Taking care of your guitar:
. Always keep your instrument in the case when not in use.
. Avoid extreme temperatures, leaving the instrument next to a radiator or in a cold damp room, or in direct sunlight in a car and so on.
. Clean your instrument after use with a DRY micro fibre/ lint free cloth.
. Always wipe down the strings after use. They will last longer.
. Change your strings once they become non responsive and your tone loses brightness. On a frequently used steel string guitar (electric/ acoustic), you may need to change strings once a month.
. A temporary fix for re vitalising strings is to boil them (steel strings only).
. You need to take your instrument to a professional if you have any of the following problems: Fret buzz, incorrect intonation, warped fingerboard, incorrectly adjusted truss rod, uneven string heights, any electrical problems with tone or volume pots (electric guitars only).
. If you have a very good instrument that is being used frequently, it is advisable to bring it to a professional once a year to 18 months for a professional clean and service.
